But without health no matter how successful we become in life, we cannot be truly happy. To live a healthy lifestyle there are many things that we can do.  Here 20 tips are discussed for you so you can enjoy a healthy lifestyle.

Eat Healthy foods: The best thing that you can do to live a healthy life is to eat healthy foods. Organic foods are the best kind of food for your body.

Fruits and vegetables are very good for our body and it is recommended by many dietitians to at least intake 400 grams of fruits per day for the adults. To make it a habit of intaking fruits in your daily meal you can make a routine and add vegetables to the daily diet plan. 

Try to avoid eating too much salt or sugar: Try to avoid as much sugar and salt as possible. Salt contains a high amount of sodium which can increase the blood pressure in your body (healthy lifestyle).

Many dietitians recommended to bring down the daily intake of salt to less than 5 grams. Sugar is now regarded as white poison as it is very unhealthy for our bodies. Eating foods that contain an excessive amount of sugar can cause our tooth to decay.

It is recommended to consume only a very limited amount of sugar daily. The best form of sugar consumption is to have them from natural sources like fruits and vegetables.

Reduce eating foods that contain an excessive amount of fats:  It is recommended to intake only 30 % fats of the total foods that are consumed daily. Various types of fats can be found like saturated fats, unsaturated fats, trans fats, and many others.

The most preferable fats for our body is unsaturated fats which can be found in fish and other rich vegetables. 

Reduce alcohol consumption: Alcohol is very harmful to our health and it is best to completely avoid alcohol consumption. Alcohol consumption regularly can lead to cancer, fatigue, lung infection, infertility, malnutrition, and many other problems in your body.

Alcohol is responsible for many types of heart diseases. Alcohol is also responsible for accidents, violence, and other different kinds of social crimes. 

Quit Smoking: Smoking is very injurious to our health. It can lead to various lungs disease like lung cancer. Smoking is also responsible for various kinds of heart disease. It has been seen that people are now realizing the bad effects of smoking and more people are quitting it (healthy lifestyle).

A new form of cigarettes is now being introduced to the people called vape. It is also referred to as e-cigarettes and it is very commonly seen that teenagers are now vaping regularly. For a healthy lifestyle, it is needed to quit smoking completely. 

Exercise Regularly: To live a healthy life you should try to exercise regularly. It is important to find time from your busy daily routine to dedicate to doing exercise. There are many advantages to doing exercise regularly.

Get enough sleep: You should make sure that you are getting a good amount of sleep every day. A night of good sleep helps to keep your mood pleasant. It also helps to keep your stress levels at a minimum.

You would see that the nights when you didn’t receive the proper amount of sleep would hurt your whole day. Reduced hours of sleep can lead to various kinds of heart disorders.  

Drink Safe Water:  Safe water is very essential for our body. Unsafe and contaminated water can lead to diseases like cholera, diarrhea, hepatitis A, typhoid and polio. Worldwide it has been found that over 2 billion people are drinking water that is contaminated with feces.

Focus on your mental health as well: We often do not give priority to our mental health as we give to our physical health. We rush to a doctor when we experience any physical disease but if we suffer from a mental disease then we feel ashamed to consult with a psychiatrist.

It is very important to give our mental health the same priority that we give to our physical health.

Abide By Traffic Laws: You need to abide by traffic rules if you want to live a healthy lifestyle. It has been found by studying various incidents reports that over one million deaths are caused because of accidents per year. Be a law-abiding citizen and respect the traffic rules.

If you abide by all the traffic rules then you are playing a role in making the road safer for the pedestrian. You can contribute to saving many lives that might be lost because of road accidents. 

Talk to other people if you are depressed: Many people suffer from depression and loneliness. It is important to talk to other people whom you trust in case you are feeling lonely. It has been found that over 260 million people in the world are affected by loneliness.

One cure for fighting depression is talking to people whom you trust and opening up to them. Talking to people with whom you can share the reason for your depression can be like a therapy session for you and help you deal with the issue. 

Waking up early in the morning: It is a very healthy habit to wake up early in the morning. When you wake up early you get more time to do things in the day. People who wake up early are generally more productive.

You can start exercising in the day early and get fresh air. Overall you would be more productive with your day and have more energy to spend throughout the day. Most of the successful people in the world are early risers and they get time to take care of their health when they wake up early. 

Sleeping early at night: To wake up early in the morning you would need to sleep early. It is better for the body if you could maintain a daily sleeping routine. The body has a natural order of sleeping and it needs 6-8 hours of sleep regularly to function properly.

Sleeping early is a very good habit that you can cultivate in yourself for a healthier lifestyle.

Wash your hands properly: It is important to keep your hands clean not only when you are eating but also when you using your hands to shake the hands of other people.

You must keep the environment around you clean. Wash your hands regularly when you have contaminated your hands with pollutants with soap or alcohol-based products. 

Take medicines wisely: Medicines often have side effects and it is wise to exercise some caution when you are intaking medicine. Never take any medicine without the doctor’s prescription. If you are feeling sick consult a doctor and then get prescribed medication for treatment.

In the case of antibiotics, you have to be even more cautious. You would have to complete the dose of antibiotics as prescribed by the doctor. Many people stop taking antibiotics when they start feeling well.

It can do more harm than good at that stage as the microorganism grows resistance to the drugs and later the antibiotics don’t have any effect on them.

In order for antibiotics to completely eliminate the microorganism from your body, you need to complete the whole medication prescribed by the doctor. 

Take a break when you need it: To be healthy you would need to take regular breaks. There is no point in overworking yourself to the point of exhaustion. Your body needs a proper amount of rest so it can function properly.

Take 15 minutes of break after working for some hours continuously. Go out with your friends on the weekends to get a change of scenario. It will help your work also and make you more productive.

Learn a new skill: If you are active then you are living a very healthy life. There are many fun skills that you can start learning like playing the guitar, singing, dancing, or many other things.

It doesn’t have to help you build your career. You can just learn it for the sake of enjoyment. It can be something that you really wanted to do for a long time or something you know you are good at.

Exposing your eyes to the bright light that comes from devices like smartphones, TV, and laptop can cause you to not an adequate amount of sleep.
